Isolated beaches, romantic moonlit evenings, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, walks, hikes, island explorations, and island nightlife are but a handful of the possibilities available when you choose a destination wedding in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Aruba Weddings and Honeymoons

Aruba's romantic environment of sunset lit beaches and private beach coves have long endeared the island as a honeymoon destination. Now both the celebration of the honeymoon as well as the actual wedding ceremony and reception can also take place on the island. As one of the hot spots for both weddings and honeymoons in the Caribbean, couples seeking romance in Aruba find they come away with their fair share of memorable moments to accompany the wedding and honeymoon photos that will soon be carefully pasted in the albums back home.

Civil marriages are performed in the salon of the historic City Hall building in downtown Oranjestad. After the legal marriage, couples may also wish to enjoy a religious ceremony, either in one of Aruba’s churches or synagogues, or even with a blessing held right on the beach.

Visitors wishing to carry out their civil marriage in Aruba must provide an apostille report from their country of citizenship. If either party has been divorces, he or she must submit a copy of the divorce decree; if one has been widowed, a death certificate must be produced. Other documents necessary for the ceremony to be carried out include copies of birth certificate, with the raised seal, and valid passports from the couples’s witnesses. All documents must be faxed for review and then submitted by courier at least one month prior to the desired wedding dates.

Ceremonies are performed Monday through Friday from 10:00am - 12:00pm and 2:00pm to 4:00pm and on Saturday by special request and upon availability. After the wedding comes the unforgettable honeymoon and Aruba perfectly fits the bill for this very special occasion. The majority of Aruba’s resorts participate in the one cool honeymoon program where couples receive the red carpet treatment right from the start with the resort providing a complimentary bottle of champagne of wine, complimentary souvenir gift, complimentary honeymoon doorknob hanger and a certificate for a free night during the following year's return stay.

Tips for Planning Your Honeymoon

Purchase your complete honeymoon in advance, including your air, hotel, and activities.

Make sure to leave at least one day in between your wedding day and your honeymoon trip. Most flights leave in the early morning, so you'll want to make sure you have everything and give yourself enough time to get to the airport.

Your passport may still be in your maiden name, so make sure the information on your air and hotel reservation matches your passport and any other required travel documentation.

Take a copy of your marriage certificate. Many hotels require proof of marriage to take advantage of special amenities exclusive for honeymooning couples.

Let your guests contribute to your once in a lifetime trip by registering with a honeymoon registry. Here, your guests will have the opportunity to purchase components of your honeymoon as gifts, such as a couple's massage, dinner on the beach, and much more.

This is a trip of a lifetime, so pamper yourself by flying first-class, upgrading your room to a suite, or by considering hotels that cater to honeymoon couples.

Go for the all-inclusive honeymoon package, with your food, beverages, accommodations, and amenities taken care of, it'll be one less thing on your mind as you travel and re-connect with each other after your big day.

Once you arrive at your honeymoon destination, remember enjoy yourselves. Indulge in this time with each other. Relax, rejuvenate, and make sure both of you are enjoying your honeymoon.

A Marriage of Food & Wine

A growing number of couples are planning their special event around wine and with good reason.

A wine focused reception is fun and exciting. The long stemmed glasses set an expectaton for something a little more elegant. And like you and your betrothed, food and wine make a beautiful couple.

Even non-wine drinkers can get into the spirit. Most people like trying new things, so those who generally don't drink wine may drink it a wedding. Having some well chosen wines will give those people a unique experience to take away with them.
