Aruba Weddings and Honeymoons

Aruba's romantic environment of sunset lit beaches and private beach coves have long endeared the island as a honeymoon destination. Now both the celebration of the honeymoon as well as the actual wedding ceremony and reception can also take place on the island. As one of the hot spots for both weddings and honeymoons in the Caribbean, couples seeking romance in Aruba find they come away with their fair share of memorable moments to accompany the wedding and honeymoon photos that will soon be carefully pasted in the albums back home.
Civil marriages are performed in the salon of the historic City Hall building in downtown Oranjestad. After the legal marriage, couples may also wish to enjoy a religious ceremony, either in one of Aruba’s churches or synagogues, or even with a blessing held right on the beach.
Visitors wishing to carry out their civil marriage in Aruba must provide an apostille report from their country of citizenship. If either party has been divorces, he or she must submit a copy of the divorce decree; if one has been widowed, a death certificate must be produced. Other documents necessary for the ceremony to be carried out include copies of birth certificate, with the raised seal, and valid passports from the couples’s witnesses. All documents must be faxed for review and then submitted by courier at least one month prior to the desired wedding dates.
Ceremonies are performed Monday through Friday from 10:00am - 12:00pm and 2:00pm to 4:00pm and on Saturday by special request and upon availability. After the wedding comes the unforgettable honeymoon and Aruba perfectly fits the bill for this very special occasion. The majority of Aruba’s resorts participate in the one cool honeymoon program where couples receive the red carpet treatment right from the start with the resort providing a complimentary bottle of champagne of wine, complimentary souvenir gift, complimentary honeymoon doorknob hanger and a certificate for a free night during the following year's return stay.

Dreams of a Lifetime can Begin With “I Do" in Aruba

Aruba serenades newlyweds with the rhythms of the waves softly hitting the shore and gentle sounds of rustling palms during a romantic walk on the beach. Aruba is perfectly suited from romantic getaways, honeymoons and weddings. Vacationing pairs are given special treatment with extensive couple-oriented activities, whether dining in intimate eateries, swaying to island tunes in beachside bars or indulging in a shared massage in exotic spas.
Evening Escapades
Couples recline along the deck of a slick catamaran, luxuriating in the soothing sensation of gliding across the sea's surface as you are served colorful refreshing cocktails
Toasts are often made by moonlight. A private dinner set up on the beach over a carpet of white sand, or a romantic meal out on the water to the sway of calm seas, helps provide the continuation of an unforgettable evening.
Lady luck often smiles on the honeymooning couple, with the carnival like atmosphere of the casino lasting into the wee hours of the morning.
Dancing while wrapped in each other's arms to the sounds of a fast-paced salsa or merengue, or in appreciating the footwork of professional dancers during a live show, rounds out the evening, perfectly topped off with a lingering kiss during a last stroll along a deserted beach.
Walking Down a Sand Aisle
Friends and family look on admiringly as a barefoot bride delicately strolls down a sand aisle. The resounding pop of a champagne bottle marks the end of the ceremony as guests rush in to congratulate the gloriously happy couple.
Historic, gabled colonial buildings and quaint island churches create similarly picturesque venues in which to create the once in a lifetime event of a wedding or renewal of vows celebration.
Create Your Memories as Mr. & Mrs.: Daytime Delights
Rising to the aroma of fresh-brewed coffee and the anticipation of a breakfast served bedside is only the start of one of many perfect days experienced together in Aruba.
Lazy days or active afternoons, each are spent in ideal harmony whether hand in hand, exchanging comforting, side long glances while luxuriating along white sand beaches bordered by the warm Caribbean sea, or in breaking out of the beach scene and into the Aruban countryside. Hitting the trail on horseback and racing into an island sunset, sailing through a yet another cloudless day, or sharing laughs as you take on the bumps of the road of an island tour are the many pleasures of Aruba.
